For the cartoon:
Cain said to the Lord, "My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Behold, you have driven me this day from the ground; yadda yadda
yadda..I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever
finds me will slay me." Then the Lord said to him, "Not so, dink! If
any one slays Cain, vengance shall be taken on him sevenfold. So neh!"
And the Lord started this sentance ungramatically with 'And', and also
put a mark on Cain, lest any who came upon him should kill him. And the
rest is cartoon history.
For Magnvs:
As Prometheus gave humanity fire, Magnetheus gave humanity the tongue
depressor; but, unlike promethues, Mangetheus (Magnvs in the Roman
translation) saw the flaw in his actions and sought to correct it. He
was unhappy that the tongue depressors served their function all too
well, for, lo, humanity was indeed depressed. Therefor, Magnetheus
created the cartoon strip, and so Family Circus was born. Strangely,
even this invention didn't seem to lift the depression...
